Honorable Mention: Coldhearted

Honorable Mention: Coldhearted

With the episode Coldhearted we get an excellent and intimate episode focused on Kid Flash. When the young speedster is tasked by Batman to deliver a heart to a girl who desperately needs an organ transplant, he's disappointed he can't join the Team in their battle alongside the Justice League. This is an emotional episode in which Wally West must use his wits to catch the villain and save the day.

10. Welcome to Happy Harbor

10. Welcome to Happy Harbor

On their first real mission, The Team believes Red Tornado is testing them when Mister Twister shows up destroying their small coastal city. It takes the group working together to defeat the bad guy as they learn about teamwork. Welcome to Happy Harbor sets up each of the main characters and their relationships, showing us how much they develop over the course of the series.

9. Bloodlines

9. Bloodlines

Impulse arrives from the future to save the world and teams up with the other Flashes to take down a villain called Neutron from blowing up Central City. It's a fun episode with some important development and lots of fun moments. It's got plenty of humor but an overall serious tone that works well for the series.

8. Homefront

8. Homefront

When their super-powered teammates get incapacitated or captured, Robin and Artemis must find a way to take down two relatives of Red Tornado named Red Torpedo and Red Inferno who have attacked the Cave. This is a wonderful mission of stealth and high stakes in which we learn why these two deserve a place on the Team. It's got great action features some of the best shots of the show and lots of suspense.

7. War

7. War

In War the Team is sent to intercept a gigantic spaceship known as War World. This one has some epic action sequences with the Team battling the alien tyrant Mongul and his many machinations. Here we also have one of the most shocking cliffhanger endings of the entire show.

6. Revelation

6. Revelation

Revelation has The Team squaring off against the Injustice League made up of The Joker, Count Vertigo, Ultra-Humanite, Black Adam, Atomic Skull, Poison Ivy, and Wotan. It's by far their biggest challenge up until this point in the series and has them outsmarting some of their worst villains. Great action, music, animation, and a world threatening storyline make this one stand out among the rest.

5. Bereft

5. Bereft

After waking up in the deserts of Bialya, the Team discovers they've forgotten the last six months of their lives and their top secret mission. Here we have everyone meeting again for the first time which is fun as they look to help one another and complete their highly dangerous mission. We get some fun character development here and lots of great action too.

4. Failsafe

4. Failsafe

With the entire Justice League defeated following an alien invasion, the Team must rise to the occasion to protect the planet. It's a strange episode with a twist ending that's difficult to watch. In Failsafe, the Team's worst nightmare and wildest dreams come true and it takes them a long time to recover making it one of the most emotionally impactful episodes ever.

3. Auld Acquaintance

3. Auld Acquaintance

In the season one finale Auld Acquaintance the Team must square off against a mind controlled Justice League to save the world. It's got great match-ups between the sidekicks and their mentors making for some fantastic fight scenes. The character each play important roles as they seek to undo what The Light has done to our heroes.

2. Depths

2. Depths

In the series' second season we learn that Aqualad has turned against The Team to join his father, and mentor Aquaman's arch-nemesis, Black Manta, but when he shows his true colors in Depths. This episode has Kaldur locked in battle with Artemis and Nightwing as their agendas are fully revealed. It's a complex and shocking episode in a season full of them.

1. Endgame

The best episode of Young Justice is Endgame. Here we find the team rescuing people as they try to prevent natural disasters from destroying the planet. It's got an intense ending with wrecks the Team but they find a way to move on in a very different iteration. There's great dialogue, incredible voice acting, gorgeous animation, and moving music which make this one unforgettable.
