Must-See Disney Movies On Netflix
Here is a list of the movies you should watch before they're taken off Netflix!
20. The Nightmare Before Christmas
Is it a Christmas movie or a Halloween movie? I say it's both as there are elements in this classic claymation film which draw from both holidays. The voice acting here is spot on the music is unforgettable. This film also features a unique look and a tone which isn't afraid to go dark for a children's movie. Tim Burton just produced this one but his stylistic fingerprints are all over it. It's a fun film but is also one that might give you nightmares.
19. Fantasia 2000
In this follow-up to the 1940 classic some elements are borrowed and many new ones are added to the mix of these music-driven animated shorts. It's a totally unique movie-viewing experience unlike anything that's come before or since. It was all Walt Disney's idea as he wanted a musical adventure which highlighted his artists abilities. The original concept was that every few years Fantasia would be re-released into theaters bringing back the audience's favorite shorts, while take away the less popular ones, and replacing them with new ones. His wish came true in 2000 with the release of this film.
18. Blank Check
Here's another fun one from the 90s. When a kid gets a blank check after a wealthy criminal nearly runs him over, he gets a million dollars and does what every kid would do: goes on a shopping spree. It's a total wish fulfillment movie and every kid can relate to the main character in the movie. It's got lots of laughs and fun action in it, but ultimately this film tells an important story about money and family. After all, what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul.
17. Sky High
Given the bombardment of superhero films at the cinema every year now, it's fun to go back to a simpler time when there were just a few films out there about people with superpowers. This gem from the early 2000s wasn't based on a comic, but on an original idea about a high school where the children of superheroes go to learn how to use their superhuman abilities. It's got a solid cast including supporting roles from Lynda Carter, Kelly Preston, and Kurt Russell. These are some pretty good special effects too. There's a good story at it's heart about friendship with plenty of romance, laughs, and action.
