Must-See Disney Movies On Netflix
Here is a list of the movies you should watch before they're taken off Netflix!
16. Atlantis: The Lost Empire
In one of the better treasure hunting movies in recent memory, bumbling scientist Milo goes on an expedition to discover the lost city of Atlantis. This one has memorable characters, stunning animation, and a good story of bravery and adventure. There's plenty to like about this film even though not everything is executed very well, but while it isn't a Disney classic, it's still worth watching. Michael J. Fox also gives a fantastic vocal performance in the lead role as do late actors James Garner and Leonard Nimoy.
15. Lilo & Stitch
Basically, this is Disney's version of E.T. as it follows a young girl in Hawaii who finds an alien fugitive and takes him into her home as a member of the family. Voice work is superb all around here and the animation is spectacular. It's s touching story and a fun one too with plenty of good music from the King, Elvis Presley himself. It's got sci-fi elements but at it's core is about a broken family coming together again.
14. The Finest Hours
Bringing this true story to life are some of the best actors working today including Chris Pine, Ben Foster, Eric Bana, and Casey Affleck. This is a harrowing tale of heroism as it takes place in the 1950s when an oil freighter breaks in half after getting caught in a storm off the coast of Massachusetts and the Coast Guard must rescue the crew. It's a suspenseful story and one that follows the men on land and those at sea as well as their families. They could've done better with the pacing and overall storytelling but it's still a movie worthy of being seen just for it's historical significance.
13. Cool Runnings
This film tells the true story of the Olympic Jamaican bobsled team. Starring John Candy the movie follows the American who trained the team and believed in them when everyone else thought they were a joke. It's an excellent story of determination and an inspiring one at that. There's tons of comedy but also a dramatic core to it all. It's a underseen gem of the 1990s from the live-action side of Disney Studios.
