Ranking Christopher Nolan Movies
Since his new movie Dunkirk opens this weekend, we ranked all of director Chris Nolan's movies!
Christopher Nolan's first film is his worst. That doesn't mean it's a bad movie, though. This quiet film noir about a man obsessed with following people is an interesting character study. Eventually, it becomes more exciting but this film isn't as well-paced as his later movies and the character study isn't as well done here. It's still a well-made movie overall and you can see his flare and style developing here early on. This one's a low-budget, experimental film early in Nolan's career which allowed him to make every other movie he's made.
9. The Dark Knight Rises
The finale to one of the best trilogies in decades is not the greatest entry in the three-film saga. However, that doesn't mean is a terrible movie by any stretch of the imagination. It's actually an excellent final chapter to this story and the character of Bruce Wayne. Christian Bale gives another brilliant performance as an aging Batman who must come out of self-imposed exile to fight Tom Hardy's physically-imposing, and genius revolutionary leader Bane. Anne Hathaway is incredible as Catwoman and Michael Caine brings some of his best work to Alfred thus far. It's an epic finale and while it may drag on too long in some places, this is still a great close to this trilogy and Nolan's fresh take on the Batman mythos.
