This one will be set after Justice League, but will have Arthur Curry in a game of thrones with his half-brother Orm as they battle for rule over the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. Shazam!

Shazam!

Earth to Echo scribe Henry Gayden is wrote the screenplay for Shazam. The Rock has been cast to portray Black Adam, but he will not show up as the anti-hero in this film, instead opting to appear first in another movie and then possibly showing up in a sequel. Lights Out director David F. Sandberg is directing and Zachary Levi has been cast in the title role with Asher Angel playing Billy Batson. This is expected to have a very light tone and be the most fun DC Film to date since it's about a kid who gets superpowers, essentially making it Tom Hanks' Big with superpowers. It's gonna be a blast to see this story on screen.

Cast & Crew: Directed by David F. Sandberg, written by Henry Gayden, and Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Grace Fulton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Djimon Hounsou, and Mark Strong.

Release Date: April 5, 2019.

Wonder Woman 1984

Wonder Woman 1984

This will be a sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot will reprise her starring role and Patty Jenkins will return to direct the movie which is already shooting from a script by Geoff Johns and David Callahan. The story is set in the 1984 and is rumored to feature Wonder Woman working with the Americans as a spy to uncover the secrets of a Russian doomsday weapon. It's unknown how, but Chris Pine will return as Steve Trevor, most likely in a flashback or dream sequence, or he could be playing a descendant of the American soldier. It's gonna be great to see the Amazonian warrior princess in another era as the character is on a journey towards who she becomes in Justice League.

Cast & Crew: Patty Jenkins will direct from a script by Jenkins, Goff Johns, and David Callahan with Gal Gadot and Chris Pine set to return alongside newcomers Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal.

Release Date: November 1, 2019

Cyborg

Cyborg

After making a cameo as the character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, relatively unknown actor Ray Fisher appeared again as Cyborg in Justice League, and will finally get his own movie soon. No writers or directors have been announced yet, however. When DC Films first announced their upcoming slate of movies, Cyborg was a surprise inclusion, even to Fisher. It's unknown when this film will take place but it will most likely be set after the events of Justice League. Some think DC and Warner Bros. will rework this into a Teen Titans film.

Cast & Crew: No announced writer or directed but Ray Fisher is set to star.

Release Date: April 3, 2020.

Green Lantern Corps

Green Lantern Corps

This film will ignore the 2011 film starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, opting to follow Hal Jordan and John Stewart in a buddy-cop-action-comedy in the same vein as Lethal Weapon. Originally, Man of Steel and The Dark Knight writer David S. Goyer and Justin Rhodes were penning the screenplay for Green Lantern Corps, but now former DC Films CCO and DC Comics storytelling extraordinaire Geoff Johns is rewriting the script. This could be a really fun buddy cop film in space. Pairing hot-shot ace pilot Hal Jordan with the no-nonsense U.S. Marine John Stewart is a smart move which could pay off big time if they cast the right actors in those roles.

Cast & Crew: No director is attached, but Geoff Johns is both writing and produceing. No cast has been announced yet.

Release Date: July 24, 2020.

The Flash

The Flash

Set to play The Flash is actor Ezra Miller who cameoed in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and played a larger role in Justice League. Joby Harold was writing the script but now team of Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are writing and directing the film which will be in the same vein as Robert Zemekis' hit film Back to the Future.  For many, The Flash stole the show in Justice League and his stand alone movie will be essentially a follow-up to that film. This story is rumored to feature the Scarlet Speedster facing off against The Rogues which could include Mirror Master, Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Weather Wizard, The Trickster, and Captain Boomerang who was played by Jai Courtney in Suicide Squad.

Cast & Crew: Daley and Goldstein are penning the script and directing while Ezra Miller, Billy Crudup, and Kiersey Clemons are all set to star.

Release Date: To Be Announced

The Batman

The Batman

Ben Affleck is expected to reprise his role of The Batman in this stand-alone film which will be directed by Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and last summer's War for the Planet of the Apes helmer Matt Reeves. The script is being penned by Reeves, and Jeremy Irons is also set to come back as Alfred Pennyworth, along with J.K. Simmons who will reprise his role of Commissioner Gordon from Justice League. Reeves wants this film to be a neo-noir Hitchcokian thriller which will focus on the detective side of the character. Rumors say that The Penguin is the main villain with the Reeves portraying the character as the most dangerous crime boss in Gotham City.

Cast & Crew: Matt Reeves will direct from a script by Reeves and Chris Terrio, and the movie will star Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons, and J.K. Simmons.

Release Date: To Be Announced

The Joker

The Joker

In a shocking move, Warner Bros. recently announced that a film focusing on the origins of the Joker is being made. The movie does not take place in the shared universe established in 2013's Man of Steel, but instead will be a stand-alone project and begin a series of unconnected spin-offs. The plot which takes place in Gotham City during the '80s is being described as a hard-boiled crime drama much like Taxi Driver. Todd Phillips has signed on to direct as well as co-write and co-produce the film, while Scott Silver and Martin Scorsese will co-write and co-produce, respectively. Academy Award-nominated actor Joaquin Phoenix is set to star as the Clown Prince of Crime in the film which will begin shooting in the fall. This one could loosely follow Alan Moore's The Killing Joke storyline.

Cast & Crew: Todd Phillips will write and direct with Scott Silver co-writing and Martin Scorsese producing with Joaquin Phoenix playing the lead role.

It's got Robbie back as Harley Quinn with at least two more characters rumored to be Batgirl and Black Canary. Cathy Yan has signed on to direct from a script by Christina Hodson. Other characters in the comic book group include Oracle, Huntress, Catwoman, Hawkgirl, Power Girl, Poison Ivy, Vixen, and Katana. It's unknown what the story is but it'll be an action-oriented, character-based film. The movie starts shooting this fall.

Cast & Crew: Cathy Yan is directing with Christina Hodson writing and Margot Robbie starring.

The New Gods

The New Gods

Director Ava Duvernay has confirmed that she is hard at work on a New Gods movie for DC Films. The movie will follow the alien beings who live on the warring planets of Apokalips and New Genesis. She's said her favorite superhero is Big Barda so expect her to have an important role. The movie could be a sprawling space saga much like Star Wars as it deals with family relationships and kingdoms at war. It may start filming next year.

Cast & Crew: Duvernay is directing and writing but no cast is on board yet.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Deathstroke

Deathstroke

Gareth Evans, the genius mastermind behind The Raid and The Raid 2, is bringing action fans a Deathstroke movie. This is a the perfect paring of director and material. His frantic style and knack for bringing audiences visceral hand-to-hand combats scenes will work perfect with this deadly character. Hopefully we get to explore his backstory and get him interacting some really cool DC heroes and villains.

Cast & Crew: Evans is writing and directing but now casting announcements have been made.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Untitled Suicide Squad Sequel

Untitled Suicide Squad Sequel

A sequel to last year's surprise hit Suicide Squad will be made with most of the main cast expected to return. The studio hired writer/director Gavin O'Conner to helm the film. He's directed such films as Warrior, Jane Got A Gun, and The Accountant, so his dark style is well-suited to this franchise. It's unknown which members of the team will return or what the story will be about a this point, but Dwayne Johnson is rumored to make his debut as Black Adam here. The first film was a bit of a mess but hopefully the studio will allow the director's vision to shine through this time and not allow a trailer-editing company to editing the entire film together.

Cast & Crew: Gavin O'Conner will write and direct the film, but none of the cast are confirmed to reprise their roles.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Nightwing

Nightwing

The LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay is currently developing a live-action film with The Accountant writer Bill Dubuque. The story will be about Batman's first sidekick, the original Robin, Dick Grayson after he leaves Gotham to fight crime solo as Nightwing in the city of Bludhaven. McKay shows he understands Batman lore and mythology in The LEGO Batman Movie, so now it's about bringing a street-level hero to life in live-action. There's so much to explore here from his relationship to Batman to his family history. Its gonna be a cool one, and McKay says his lead actor is gonna have to learn gymnastics and martial arts because he wants this to be a gritty action film in the same vein as The Raid.

Cast & Crew: Chris McKay will direct and write the film with scribe Bill Dubuque, but no casting has been announced yet.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Gotham City Sirens

Gotham City Sirens

Suicide Squad director David Ayer has set Gotham City Sirens as his next DC-based project which will feature Margot Robbie returning as Harley Quinn as she teams-up with Catwoman and Poison Ivy. No word yet on who will play the other two roles. This will be a fun movie featuring three femme fatales taking on Gotham City and Batman in their own unique ways. Robbie got great reception as Quinn, so it's just a matter of finding two other actresses who can play off her well and really get into their characters.

Cast & Crew: David Ayer will write and direct with Margot Robbie set to play Harley Quinn again.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Harley Quinn and the Joker

Harley Quinn and the Joker

There's a film about The Joker and Harley Quinn in the works at the studio. However, it's unknown when it will be set. It could adapt the popular Mad Love storyline from Batman: The Animated Series which is essentially the story of how these two met which was touched on briefly in the flashbacks of Suicide Squad. The two actors played so well off each other it'll be great to see them back on the big screen. Hopefully, Batman will have a significant role as well and perhaps we'll get to see more of Arkham Asylum and maybe even get Hugo Strange in a major role. A writer and director were recently hired so this one may be on the fast track to get made sooner rather than later.

Cast & Crew: Glenn Ficarra and John Requa have been hired to write and direct the movie with Jared Leto and Margot Robbie set to reprise their roles.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Batgirl

Batgirl

Television auteur and Marvel's The Avengers helmer Joss Whedon was going to write, direct, and produce this film about Batman's female sidekick, Batgirl. However, Whedon left the project and Bumblebee scribe Christina Hodson was brought in to pent he screenplay. Hopefully this film will get into the psychology of Barbara Gordon and show us why the daughter of Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon would put on a mask and become a vigilante.

Cast & Crew: Christina Hodson is writing, but no director is on board yet and no casting has been announced.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn

Margot Robbie is the busiest person in the DC Films universe right now as she's got four films in development, including a stand alone movie about the ultimate femme fatale Harley Quinn. She clearly enjoys playing the character and audiences embraced her more than any other character in Suicide Squad. It's unknown what this story will be but it'd be fun to see a female-centric villain film.

Cast & Crew: No director or writer is attached but Margot Robbie will play Quinn again.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Justice League Dark

Justice League Dark

Bringing DC Comics' dark, mystical side to life is this film which promises to give fans a character-driven story inspired by classic horror movies.  John Contastine, Zatana, Swamp Thing, Deadman, The Demon, Madame Xanadu, and The Spetre are all expected to appear in Justice League Dark. Guillermo del Toro was originally going to write and direct the film, but he dropped out to work on other projects. The Bourne Identity and Edge of Tomorrow helmer Doug Liman then came on board as director, but he also left the project to work on other movies. If this one can get a director that stays it'd be a fun one to see.

Cast & Crew: Gerard Johnstone is currently working on the script, but no director or cast is attached currently.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Booster Gold

Booster Gold

TV producer extraordinaire Greg Berlanti originally wanted to make a movie about time-traveling glory-seeking superhero Booster Gold and the tech-savvy billionaire industrialist Blue Beetle as a team-up movie, but a few years ago he and writer Zak Penn left the project. Now Zack Stentz is writing the screenplay in 2016, but no word has been heard on it since then. It'd be a fun film to see and would be a unique film in the super hero genre with it's time bending hero and unique character dynamics.

Cast & Crew: Zack Stentz is writing but no director or cast has been announced.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Untitled Man of Steel Sequel

Untitled Man of Steel Sequel

A sequel to Man of Steel will feature Henry Cavill in the lead role again. Mad Max visionary George Miller and Kingsman: The Secret Service director Matthew Vaughn have been rumored to direct. This movie is expected to take a lighter, more optimistic approach to the character as he becomes the Superman most audiences know. We saw hints of this new version of the character at the end of Justice League. Rumored villains include Brainiac and Metallo. It could also introduce Supergirl and Steel to the DC Films universe.

Cast & Crew: No writer or director is on board yet, but Henry Cavill is expected to return as Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Lobo

Lobo

Warner Bros. announced a feature film focusing on the DC Comics character Lobo was in development back in in September of 2009 with Guy Ritchie set direct the film. The story would follow the alien bounty hunter as he lands on Earth and teams with a small town girl to stop four fugitive creatures who are bent on wreaking havoc. By 2010 Ritchie left the project, but in April of 2012, Brad Peyton had signed on as writer and director, with Dwayne Johnson entering negotiations to play the titular character. Johnson, though, opted to portray Black Adam instead and Peyton dropped out. Recently, Jason Fuchs was brought in to work on a re-write of the script confirming that the character would be portrayed as he was in the original comic book story arcs. Now, Transformers director Michael Bay is supposedly in talks to helm the project.

Cast & Crew: No director or actors have been hired yet but Jason Fuchs is writing the script.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Black Adam

Black Adam

Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been attached to play the anti-hero Black Adam for years now. First, he'll appear elsewhere in the DCEU (rumors put him in Suicide Squad 2), but eventually he's getting his own film. He surprisingly will not appear in the Shazam! movie even though he's the arch-enemy of that character. A tortured slave in ancient Egypt, Black Adam was the first champion of the wizard Shazam who granted him the abilities of the gods to set him free and bring peace to the planet, but Adam was corrupt and used his powers to become a tyrant, so Shazam banished him to the farthest star, and Adam fights his way back to Earth to reclaim his kingdom and kill the wizard. It's a great story that I hope we'll get to see soon.

Cast & Crew: No director or writer is attached currently, but The Rock is set to play the lead role.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Deadshot

Deadshot

A spin-off of Suicide Squad is in development with Will Smith set to reprise his role of Floyd Lawton a.k.a. Deadshot. It's unknown when the film will take place or what the story will be. It'd be fun to see him as an anti-hero, reluctantly teaming up with Batman or another superhero. He's a great actor and was one of the highlights of Suicide Squad. It'd be great to see more of him as both a father and an assassin much like Leon: The Professional.

Cast & Crew: No director or writer have been hired but Will Smith is set to return as the lead character.

Release Date: To Be Announced

Untitled Justice League Sequel

Untitled Justice League Sequel

Director Zack Snyder was expected to return to helm this sequel to the upcoming superhero team-up movie which will most likely feature much of the same cast as well, but now things have been changed up and it may be a different movie entirely. This is a sequel that's up in the air and it's fate will be determined by the box office and critical success of other DC movies. It'd be great to see the team back with some new members and a different villain, maybe even the Injustice League which was teased at the end of the first film.

Cast & Crew: No director or writer is officially on board yet, but most of the cast from the first Justice League film are expected to return to reprise their roles.

Release Date: To Be Announced
