Upcoming Marvel Studios Movies
Here are the films you'll get to see soon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
A new hero will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase Three, and that's Captain Marvel as played by Brie Larson. In the comics, Carol Danvers is an Air Force pilot who's granted alien abilities and uses them to protect the galaxy. The character is cosmic, but has Earth-bound ties which makes her interesting. Her stand-alone movie is set in the 1990s, will feature a young Nick Fury, and the MCU debut of the shape-shifting alien species known as Skrulls.
Cast & Crew: Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Nicole Perlman, and Meg LeFauve, and starring Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg, Jude Law, Gemma Chan, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, and Ben Mendelsohn.
Release Date: March 8, 2019
Untitled Fourth Avengers Film
When it was originally announced, the third Avengers movie was going to be split into two parts. Since then however, Marvel Studios has abandoned that idea and said that the two are separate films, yet still connected as all MCU films are. Less is known about this movie, but it will deal with fallout from the events of Infinity War and feature at least some of the same characters and the same directors and writers are on board. It's rumored to be titled either Infinity Gauntlet, Annihilation, Endgame, or The Last Avenger.
Cast & Crew: Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, written by Stephen McFeely, and Christopher Markus, starring Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lily, Karen Gillan, Anthony Mackie, Tom Holland, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Paul Bettany, Scarlett Johansson, Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle, Pom Klementieff, Paul Rudd, and Hiroyuki Sanada.
Release Date: May 3, 2019
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Marvel's most popular character was able to come home with the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and he was a highlight of Avengers: Infinity War. Now, newcomer Tom Holland will play Peter Parker/Spider-Man again in this sequel set in Europe while he's on a field trip with his classmates. While Scorpion was set up as the next villain, this one has Spidey facing off against Mysterio and maybe even Hydro Man.
Cast & Crew: Directed by Jon Watts, written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, and starring Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, Zendaya, and Marisa Tomei.
Release Date: July 5, 2019
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Writer/director James Gunn had already written the third Guardians of the Galaxy film when he was fired by the studio. The first and second films were huge successes, so this is a huge surprise. There's no telling who will take over this thankless directing job or if the cast will even return.
Cast & Crew: ?
Release Date: 2020
There have been rumors of a Black Widow solo film for years, but recently the studio began to put their money where their mouth is. Jac Schaeffer was hired to write the script at the beginning of the year, and now director Cate Shortland has signed on to direct the film. The movie will be a prequel showing audiences how the titular assassin became a Russian spy and later defected to S.H.I.E.L.D. It's also rumored to include an appearance by Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier.
Cast & Crew: Written by Jac Schaeffer, directed by Cate Shortland, and starring Scarlett Johansson.

Untitled Marvel Mystery Movies
Marvel Studios has set release dates for movies on May 1, July 31, and November 6, 2020; February 12, May 7, and November 5, 2021; as well as February 18, May 6, and July 29, 2021. One of those is probably the Black Widow film and the other could be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, if that films ever gets made. Another is likely the Untitled Third Spider-Man Film and they just announced an Eternals movie as well. Wesley Snipes has stated that he's had meetings with the studio to return as Blade, and an all-female team-up movie was suggested to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige by actress Tessa Thompson who plays Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok which has gained support from fans. Expect sequels to Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Ant-Man and the Wasp too. Needless to say the MCU isn't slowing down anytime soon, and you'll see plenty of films featuring these characters in the future.
