Black Canary's Season Six Look Unveiled!

Having made her debut last season, Arrow‘s Juliana Harkavy is officially suiting up as the new Black Canary when season six debuts later this year. EW has just revealed a first look at the new Black Canary costume design! The suit was designed by Maya Mani. Harkavy tells the outlet, confirming that her new Black Canary will make her costumed debut in the season six opener saying, “We had talked about having the costume at various points last season and it never felt right. It felt that we wanted to save it for a special occasion, and the premiere seemed like a really good place to do it. She needs something tactical. She has this meta power, but she also has the bo staff, so we just felt it was right for her to have something that was definitely more than a nod to the DCU character, but also something that was distinctive from what we’ve seen before. This really fits the bill.”

At the top of the page you can see how Dinah Drake looked in season five which was essentially a simple civilian look with a mask. Directly above you see how she's changed over the years on the show as she has played by Katie Cassidy in season three. Below you can see how Catie Lotz looked in season two. Go tot he bottom of the page to discover the new look she'll sport in season six. Black Canary was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino and debuted in issue #86 of Flash Comics in August 1947. She's appeared in many animated films and TV series since then. The character made her live-action debut on Arrow.

In addition to Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake, The CW series Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn, with Paul Blackthorne as Detective Lance. The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter. Arrow, which formerly aired Wednesday nights at 8:00pm ET/PT on The CW, will move to Thursday nights at 9:00pm ET/PT when season six premieres October 12.
