Creed II Casts Ivan Drago's Son
The next Rocky movie casts the son of the Russian!
Son Of Dolph Lundgren's Ivan Drago Cast In Creed II!
Straight from actor/writer/director Sylvester Stallone, we now know who will be playing the son of Ivan Drago in the sequel to the 2015 film, Creed. Stallone took to Instagram to tell fans, "Congratulations to Florian 'Big Nasty' Munteanu for getting the part as IVAN DRAGOS son! 27 years old , 6 feet four, 245 pounds of talent." It'll be interesting to see how Munteanu does acting in the film as he's never played a role in a film before, but most likely the story will focus on Adonis and Balboa with him playing a minor role as the villain. The Romanian boxer will star alongside Jordan and Stallone as well as Tessa Thompson and Dolph Lundgren.
The Creed films are a continuation/spin-off of the Rocky film series which Stallone created himself and jump-started his career. In the fourth Rocky film, released in 1985, the titular American boxer faced off against a Russian boxer named Ivan Drago who killed Rocky's close friend and former rival Apollo Creed. The lead character of the Creed movies is Adonis Creed, son of Apollo which means the new film will have him squaring off against the son of the man who killed his father. That potentially makes the sequel a story of both legacy and vengeance. Steven Caple Jr. is set to direct the sequel working from a script by Stallone and Marvel's Luke Cage Netflix series showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker. Filming on Creed 2 is expected to begin in March in Philadelphia with a release date set for November 21st.
