Creed II Gets Official Release Date
The follow-up to the Rocky spin-off has a theatrical release set!
An Official Release Date Has Been Set For Creed II!
It was announced today that Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Annapurna Pictures have formed a new joint venture for theatrical distribution in the U.S. of Creed II, a follow-up to Ryan Coogler‘s smash hit sports drama which is a spin-off of the long-running film series Rocky. Starring Michael B. Jordan as the son of the late boxing champ, Apollo Creed, Creed II will be released in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures on November 21, 2018. Sylvester Stallone is writing and will direct the sequel. Stallone starred as Rocky Balboa in all six of the original films, wrote all of them as well, and directed Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV, and Rocky Balboa. He co-starred with Jordan in the 2015 spin-off which earned him a Golden Globe win and Academy Award nomination.
Creed II is written and directed by Sylvester Stallone and stars Michael B. Jordan and Dolph Lundgren. Creed grossed $173 million in 2015 and received critical acclaim. It's currently unknown if other cast members like Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Graham McTavish, Wood Harris, Ritchie Coster, or Brian Anthony Wilson will return for the sequel. The first film is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download. Creed II will be released into theaters on November 21, 2018.
