Black Adam Film Starring The Rock Gets A Writer!
Today, The Tracking Board is reporting that the creator of Undateable, Adam Sztykiel, is said to be in final negotiations to write the Black Adam film for DC Films and New Line Cinema. The movie will star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the anti-hero character who is the arch-nemesis of Shazam. Zachary Levi was just cast as Billy Batson who becomes the superhero Shazam in his own movie set for release in 2019. Sztykiel has already worked on several projects for New Line such as Spy Guys, Due Date, and We’re the Millers 2. Johnson and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions will produce along with Beau Flynn of the Flynn Picture Company. Also, Johnson has stated that Black Adam will appear in the DC Films shared cinematic universe before his solo film and has hinted that he will fight Superman at some point as well.
Black Adam has no director yet, but Adam Sztykiel is writing and Dwayne Johnson is on board to star in the film. Johnson and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions will produce along with Beau Flynn of the Flynn Picture Company. The film is set in the DC Films shared cinematic universe. It is unknown where the character will show up first. The movie could be released into theaters as early as 2019 which is the same year Shazam will hit the cinemas. If both films are successful there's no doubt they will be brought together in a movie to battle one another and possibly team up if they make Adam more of an anti-hero which seems to be the plan. They could also both appear in a sequel to Justice League.
