According to Ain't It Cool News, a source of theirs has information on a secret Marvel project called Captain Britain and the Black Knight!  This anonymous source says, "I work at various movie studios in the UK and have been situated at Pinewood for a few weeks, and I'm moving to Cardiff on a project soon. I haven't seen anything about this online anywhere, so I thought id send the info on to you: Space at Pinewood has been booked for November & December 2018 to hold auditions for a Marvel project called CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND THE BLACK KNIGHT. The name of the director booked in for all these dates is GUY RITCHIE. Marvel seems to be moving fast with it to fill in the space left behind by Danny Boyle's aborted Bond 25. Everyone is excited because it looks like another few months of solid work when we thought we would have to wait a while." While it's still a rumor this would be a cool way to bring these characters to the big screen.

For those of you not familiar with these Marvel characters, Captain Britain was created by Chris Claremont and Herb Trimpe making his debut in Captain Britain Weekly #1 in October of 1976. Captain Britain kicked off Marvel UK's universe which followed the adventures of Brian Braddock who was granted various superhuman abilities by the wizard Merlyn to uphold the ideals of Great Britain. Meanwhile, Stan Lee and Joe Maneely created Black Knight who debuted in Black Knight #1 in May of 1955 with various other versions of the character created by Roy Thomas, George Tuska, Reginald Huskin, and John Romita Jr. The character Dan Whitman is the wielder of a cursed sword passed down from the generations since King Arthur and uses it to battle evil after his corrupt Uncle used it for more nefarious purposes. Guy Ritchie would be the perfect choice to bring these superhero to life on screen with his uniquely-shot penchant for action and more humorous tone which would also fit well in Marvel's Cinematic Universe.
