Jamie Foxx Gives Us Some Details On The New Robin Hood Movie!
There have been many films made over the years about the legendary story of Robin Hood. From the classic 1938 film The Adventures of Robin Hood starring Errol Flynn in the title role to the most recent adaptation featuring Russell Crowe as the heroic outlaw, this timeless tale will continue to be told again and again for every new generation. The newest version will come from director Otto Bathurst who's helmed some TV series including recent episodes of Peaky Blinders. Coming off his huge success as Eggsy in Kingsman: The Secret Service, Taron Egerton will lead this cast in the title role. Meanwhile, Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx has been cast in the film as Little John, and he recently had some things to say about the upcoming movie. Foxx told Entertainment Weekly, “It’s different. It was directed by Otto Bathurst, who shot Peaky Blinders. The way they shot it was crazy, it looks like you’re watching Zero Dark Thirty. We’re shooting with our bows, but they computer-generated it so it’s rapid-fire, almost like an AK. I saw that and was like ‘Oh, they ain’t ready for this.' Taron Egerton, man. He kills this. He looks so great as Robin Hood."
The film is directed by Otto Bathurst, written by Joby Harold, Peter Craig, David James Kelly, and stars Taron Egerton as Robin Hood, Jamie Foxx as Little John, Eve Hewson as Maid Marian, Jamie Dornan as Will Scarlet, Tim Minchin as Friar Tuck, and Ben Mendelsohn as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Originally titled Robin Hood: Origins, the film now is simply titled Robin Hood and will follow a younger Robin as he returns home from the Crusades and becomes the infamous outlaw. The movie will be released in theaters on March 23, 2018.
