If you didn't already know, George Miller, director of Mad Max franchise and Happy Feet, was poised to helm a Justice League movie back in 2007. The visionary director cast the film, helped write the script, and was ready to begin shooting in Australia when the writers strike ended the production and the film was cancelled. His cast (pictured above) included (from left to right) Armie Hammer as Batman, D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Adam Brody as The Flash, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, Hugh Keays-Byrne as Martian Manhunter, and Common as Green Lantern. The rest of the cast included actress Teresa Palmer as Talia al Ghul and actor Jay Baruchel as Maxwell Lord. Get a first look at his full cast of heroes in costume above and out of costume below.

With the disappointing box office run of Warner Bros.' Justice League (it's the lowest grossing DCEU film to date) the studio may want think about bringing Miller's unique take on the characters and universe back to the big screen.  His vision could be exactly what this universe needs right now. The extraordinary success of Miller's 2015 Oscar-nominated film Mad Max: Fury Road proves that the director is at the top of his game. DC Films is in disarray now as no one knows if any of their upcoming films are part of the same shared cinematic universe or not. Their upcoming projects include Aquaman and Shazam, as well as Wonder Woman 2, Cyborg, and Green Lantern Corps. Currently still in various stages of development are Batgirl, The Batman, Black Adam, Flashpoint, Gotham City Sirens, Justice League Dark, Nightwing, Suicide Squad 2, Birds of Prey, Booster Gold, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, Justice League 2, Harley Quinn and the Joker, Lobo, The Joker, and the recently announced movie based on Jack Kirby's Fourth World titled The New Gods. Aquaman hits theaters on December 21, Shazam arrives on April 5, 2019, and Wonder Woman 2 will be released on November 1, 2019.
