Star Wars Live-Action Series Title & Synopsis Revealed; Lead Role Rumored
Jon Favreau releases title and synopsis of new Star Wars show!
Star Wars Live-Action Series Titled The Mandalorian!
Taking to his social media sites last night, director/producer/writer/actor Jon Favreau revealed the title and first official plot synopsis of his upcoming live-action Star Wars streaming series! The series is titled The Mandalorian and will follow a lone gunslinger in the outer rim after the fall of the Empire. The rumored actor to fill the lead role is Pedro Pascal who's starred in such TV shows as Game of Thrones and Narcos, as well as films like The Adjustment Bureau, The Equalizer 2, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984. The Mandalorians have been a huge part of Star Wars mythology for a long time with movie characters like Jango Fett and his son Boba, but they've been even more important in animated series such as The Clone Wars and Rebels with characters like Favreau's own Pre Vizsla and Tiya Sircar's Sabine Wren playing major roles.
This is new territory for the Star Wars franchise and the first-ever live-actions series set in the galaxy far, far away. Favreau is writing and producing the series, and he'll probably direct some of the episodes as well. The series will run for 10 episodes in it's first season and each episode will have a budget of $10 million, making it one of the most expensive series of all time. Dave Filoni, supervising director on both The Clone Wars and Rebels, is also rumored to direct some episodes of the show. Expect some official casting news soon as production is begin this month for a debut on the Disney streaming service sometime in 2019.
