Today Sony Pictures has released the second trailer for the sequel to the 1995 fantasy/adventure film Jumanji. The original movie starred Robin Williams and was directed by Joe Johnston. It grossed $262 million at the box office in it's original theatrical run. The film also starred Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce, David Alan Grier, Bebe Neuwirth, and Jonathan Hyde. It received mixed reviews from critics upon it's opening, but has since become a cult classic with audiences. The film follows a boy who finds an ancient mystical board game which and becomes trapped in the jungle world inside while playing with his best friend Sarah Whittle in 1969. Twenty-six years later, siblings Judy and Peter Shepherd find the game, begin playing and then unwittingly release the now-adult Alan. After tracking down Sarah, the quartet resolve to finish the game in order to reverse all of the destruction it has caused.

This film caught many off guard when it was announced it seemed like another attempt by Hollywood to cash in on a familiar title with a modern reboot. However, this trailer and the previous ones show us that this movie is a direct sequel to the original film with a modern twist. Instead of a board game Jumanji is now a video game which sucks players into the dangerous jungle world. It's seems like it'll be a fun film which features an awesome cast. This trailer shows off more of the action and humor and lets us know that the movie will play with popular video game tropes that any one who's picked up a controller will enjoy.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is directed by Jake Kasdan, written by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Scott Rosenberg, and Jeff Pinkner, and stars Dwayne " the Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Nick Jonas. When cleaning out a school's basement while serving detention, four teenagers find a vintage video game version of Jumanji and get sucked into its jungle setting becoming avatars inside the game with the only way out being to play along and finish it. The film will be released on December 20, 2017.
